First auditions for the Cabaret Evenening were on Sunday 6th May,
Your next chance for auditions will be Wednesday 16th May.
At present rehearsals will start Sunday 17th June and continue Sunday 24th June
and Sunday 1st July.

At the AGM Laurie reported that the Players had a good year with Sue’s pantomime Snow White and the Seven Tradesmen, and Noel’s recent production of Surprise Package. She thanked everyone who had helped or taken part in any or all of these and hoped that the year ahead was going to be a good one. Liz produced the audited accounts which show a healthy bank balance although there are bills still due from Surprise Package. The outgoing committee members are Sue McCrimmon and Frank Bruce. Suzanne has moved up into Sue’s position. The new committee is; Laurie Thomsett Chairman Suzanne Challinor Vice Chairman Liz Meanley Treasurer Val Pinkham Secretary Claire Carter Robin Spruce Noel Spruce John wing Emily Greves Helen Simmons Terry Serne from 3.30pm onwards and as usual will be hosted by Robin and Noel in their garden. He tells us that his hole in the ground may be finished by then. I’m not sure what sort of hole in the ground he is referring to after watching the rehearsals for Surprise Package. Suzanne needs to have acts as soon as possible, so that she organise rehearsal dates. Singing, can-can, monologues and sketches have been mentioned, but we need more of everything to fill out the evening. This year the AGM will be on a Wednesday evening not Sunday as in the past. The Vice-Chairman is up for re-election and Sue has tendered her resignation from both the office and the committee due to personal reasons. Treasurer, Lizzie, and Secretary, Val, have another year to serve. Frank has also tendered his resignation from the committee. Nominations will be needed for Vice-Chairman, and ordinary members for the committee. These are to be submitted by 29th April. The nomination form is attached and should contain: Name, Position, Proposer, Seconder and indication that the person has agreed to stand. |
