New Performance, New Genre

The Briston Players dipped their toes into the world of period drama for their March production. The play is entitled ‘Lady Susan’ and was adapted from a Jane Austen novel of the same name.

WELL PLAYED, BRISTON!

NODA-Award
The Briston Players have won the Noda Cup for the Best Original Script at the Hunstanton Drama Festival, for ‘The Village Fete’, written by local writer Chris Fullwood.
Chris drew together a ‘confusion’ of gnomes, an outrageously snooty mother-in-law, and the worst things you could think of at a village fete, including a vicar on tire, for this uproarious play. The actors were Val Pinkham, nominated for the Best Adult Female Actress, Dominic Pinkham, nominated for the Best Adult Male Actor, Imogen Bruce and Laurie Thomsett, who gave very good performances.
Chris Fullwood is one of the newer members of the Briston Players, and with several others is also starting a film unit section of the group. It is hoped he will come up with another winning script for next year’s festival.
He is pictured with, left to right the Members Secretary, Claire Carter; Chairman, Hannah Jackson; and President, Jenny Taylor.
The Briston Players can be contacted via Claire, the Members Secretary, on 01263 861340.
